The 4D Filter: The Secret to Lightening Your Load

The 4D Filter lives inside Step 2 of the 3 step process (The Baltrix Method™): SIMPLIFY.

Because before you can feel balanced, organised or even vaguely calm, you’ve got to clear the clutter and that doesn’t just mean your kitchen bench.

It means clearing:
✔ Physical clutter (the stuff)
✔ Time clutter (overpacked schedules)
✔ Mental clutter (the noise in your head)
✔ Emotional clutter (guilt, overwhelm, unrealistic expectations)

Here’s where most mums get stuck: you try to simplify, but everything feels urgent, important, or tied to someone else’s expectations. You don’t know what to cut… so you keep carrying it all.

The 4D Filter™ helps you change that fast.

How It Works

Every task, commitment, decision or expectation gets filtered through these four simple questions:

1. DELETE – Can this be removed entirely?

Sometimes, less really is more. What can go, guilt-free?

  • Old commitments that no longer serve you
  • Clutter or unfinished projects weighing on your mind
  • Expectations that aren’t yours to carry

2. DELEGATE – Can someone else handle this?

You don’t have to do it all, especially when others can help.

  • Household chores shared with your partner or kids
  • Work tasks assigned to your team
  • Outsourcing (where possible) to free up your headspace

3. DELAY – Can this wait?

Not everything needs to happen today. Some things can pause.

  • Projects that aren’t urgent
  • Conversations or decisions that need space
  • To-do’s that don't align with your priorities for today

4. DO DIFFERENTLY – Can this be simplified or automated?

It’s not about doing more, it’s about doing things smarter.

  • Automate bills, routines, or shopping
  • Streamline household rhythms
  • Batch similar tasks together to save energy

Why It Works

Most people feel overwhelmed because they’re trying to control everything. But the truth is, not everything belongs on your plate and carrying it all leads straight to burnout.

The 4D Filter™ helps you:
✔ Make clearer, faster decisions
✔ Stop overcommitting out of guilt or habit
✔ Free up time, energy and mental space

Less on your plate means:
✔ More breathing room
✔ More time for what actually matters
✔ A stronger, steadier foundation to build from

A Quick Example

Let’s say your schedule feels packed:

  • You’re constantly behind on housework
  • You’ve volunteered for yet another school event
  • You’re saying yes to last-minute work tasks
  • Your self-care keeps slipping

4D Filter in action:

DELETE – Do you really need to volunteer for every school thing? No.
DELEGATE – Can your partner help with bedtime or dishes? Yes.
DELAY – Can you put off deep-cleaning the garage? Absolutely.
DO DIFFERENTLY – Can you automate grocery orders? Definitely.

It’s not about being perfect, it’s about lightening your load, intentionally.

When life feels heavy, the 4D Filter gives you permission to let things go, without the guilt.
